Kairos: A Consort of Singers (Edward Lundergan, Artistic Director) is a select vocal ensemble dedicated to the performance of unaccompanied choral literature from the Medieval to the present.  The group is Artist-in-Residence at  Holy Cross Monastery in West Park, NY and performs throughout the Hudson Valley and beyond. Kairos presents the Bach Cantata Series, with performances of the church cantatas of J. S. Bach at various times throughout the year at Holy Cross Monastery. Now in its seventh year, the series has elicited an enormously enthusiastic response by the public and has received wide critical acclaim. Kairos also presents historically-informed performances of the great Baroque choral works each fall, including the Monteverdi "Vespers", Handel's "Dixit Dominus" and Purcell's "King Arthur". Kairos is celebrating its 19th anniversary as the premiere vocal ensemble of the Hudson Valley!

We hope that you'll spend some time with us to learn more about our music and our mission.

We encourage you to become a KAIROS "angel" so that we can keep you informed about upcoming events, special offers on concerts, and news about the group.  To join, click

"Directed by Edward Lundergan, the group of 17 singers performed a cappella with clear intonation, precise diction and warm interpretation. In Sunday's concert, they also demonstrated their versatility in a variety of styles and wide selections." - Times Herald Record, May 14, 2013

"The individual and choral voices were splendid in their clear articulation and heartening interpretation of the human condition facing life and death." - Times Herald Record, November 2012 (click here to read entire review)

"Under the direction of Edward Lundergan, the small [King Arthur] orchestra was sprightly and clear, the chorus similarly well-coordinated...David Tass Rodriguez read the narration, which summarizes long scenes to be acted, with obvious flair..." - Woodstock Times, December 2011

"David Tass Rodriguez gave the [King Arthur] narration a lively, humorous reading while the singers sang with full force together and in a variety of solos, duets, trios and quintets. A 14-piece orchestra played the overtures and accompaniment with precision and energy. It was an unusual treat to hear this courtly entertainment performed with such skill and enjoyment." - Times Herald Record, November 2011 (Click here to read entire review)

"Impressive ... Expertly directed by Edward Lundergan..." - Times Herald Record, September 2009

"[The] dramatic and confident confession of faith received a full and heartfelt expression from the singers and organist...The appreciative near-capacity audience gave the performers a well-deserved standing ovation." - Times Herald Record, February 2011 (Click here to read entire review)

"The 23 Kairos singers made full use of the [Holy Cross] chapel acoustics for a unique musical experience that held the capacity audience spellbound for almost two hours. ... [The Amen] brought the audience to its feet for a long, well-deserved standing ovation." - Times Herald Record, December 2010 (Click here to read entire review)
