GEORGE JAHN

Baritone

Introduced to choral singing at age 10 with Bach's St. Matthew Passion, George Jahn was hooked for life. Church, school, college, the story continued. He sang with the N.Y.U. Glee Club and toured Europe with its small a cappella group, the "Golliards". He organized and led a shipboard choir while in the Navy; then, after returning home, he and his wife helped organize the Westchester Madrigal Singers. Whenever he moved for his career in banking, he searched for the very best chorus. He has sung with the San Francisco Symphony Chorus, the Back Bay Chorale in Boston, Detroit's Cantata Academy, Albany Pro Musica, Lenox, MA's Cantilena Choir, and the Canby Singers in New York. He has also sung minor roles with Michigan Opera Theatre and the Bronx Opera. He earned his BA in History and an MBA in Finance from N.Y.U. George and his wife live in Dutchess County.
