THE HUDSON VALLEY'S SELECT VOCAL ENSEMBLE

Press Package for Kairos: A Consort of Singers and Artistic Director, Edward Lundergan

Kairos: A Consort of Singers is a select vocal ensemble dedicated to the performance of unaccompanied choral literature from the Medieval to the present.  The group is Artist-in-Residence at  Holy Cross Monastery in West Park, NY and performs throughout the Hudson Valley and beyond. Kairos is celebrating its 23rd anniversary as the premiere vocal ensemble of the Hudson Valley!

Kairos presents the Bach Cantata Series, with performances of the church cantatas of J. S. Bach at various times throughout the year at Holy Cross Monastery. Now in its eleventh year, the series has elicited an enormously enthusiastic response by the public and has received wide critical acclaim.  Kairos also presents historically-informed performances of the great Baroque choral works each fall, including the Monteverdi 1610 Vespers, Handel's Dixit Dominus, Purcell's King Arthur and Bach's majestic Mass in B Minor.
