Stephanie, a Wallkill local, has spent her life immersed in the art of music.  For the past several years she has been under the tutelage of Maestro Ron De Fesi. Ms. Backofen concluded her formal education on both clarinet and voice at the Universities of SUNY Ulster and The Crane School of Music under Prof. Janet Gehres and Prof Jeffery Francom. She is actively singing in many choirs around the Hudson Valley region as well as featuring as a soloist. In the spring of 2014, she performed the World Premiere of "Lied," a work written for her by an area composer. She is ambitiously following her love of music wherever it may take her.
