INGRID NARKEN

Ingrid is a native of the Hudson Valley area, having grown up in Poughkeepsie. She received a B.S. degree in music theory and composition from SUNY New Paltz, where she studied with Gundaris Poné, and a M.S. degree in music education from Western Connecticut State University. Ingrid has taught vocal music for the Washingtonville Central School District in Orange County New York since 1990. She has been musical director for several school musical productions, including “Annie,” Grease,” and “The Wizard of Oz.”. In addition to teaching, Ingrid has performed throughout the Hudson Valley with many area choral groups, including the Newburgh Symphonic Chorale, and has performed with the Opera Company of the Highlands productions of “Cavalleria Rusticana,” “I Pagliacci” and “Madame Butterfly” as chorus member. She directed the Newburgh Symphonic Chorale from 2009 to 2012.
